Entrance Examination of JEE Main 2014

The Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Main 2014 Entrance Exam will be conducted in both online and offline mode by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). In online mode, the entrance exam of JEE Main 2014 will be conducted in a series of random days starting from 9 April 2014. Other online dates are 11, 12 and 19 April 2014. The offline exam of JEE Main 2014 is scheduled for 6 April 2014. The applicants are required to book their slots in order to choose the mode and date for appearing in the entrance exam. The JEE Main entrance exam is conducted once every year at national level.

Going by the statistics, approximately 13 Lakh candidates appear for JEE 2014 Main entrance exam and around 1.5 lakh candidate qualify for the second round of the entrance exam i.e. JEE Advanced entrance exam, to be given by the qualified candidates only. The applicants meeting the eligibility criteria and further filling the application form can appear for the entrance exam along with a copy of the admit card. The engineering entrance exam is taken by the candidates aspiring to pursue engineering at reputed engineering colleges of the country.

JEE Main 2014 Eligibility Criteria:

As mentioned earlier, the applicants can only appear for the entrance exam if they have ensured their eligibility criteria and have filled the application form therefore, eligibility criterion set by the official authority plays a very crucial role in the process of entrance examination:

  • In order to appear for the entrance exam of JEE Main 2014, the applicant must have cleared the class XII or equivalent exam in the year 2012 or 2013
  • If the applicant had appeared for JEE Main entrance exam thrice then the candidate is not eligible to appear for the entrance exam of JEE Main 2014
  • The applicant of general category must be born on or after 1 October 1989 and for SC/ST/PWD category, the applicant must be born in the year 1984

JEE Main 2014 Exam Pattern:

  • The entrance exam of JEE Main 2014 will be conducted in both online and offline mode
  • As per the exam pattern, the question paper will have questions from Math, Chemistry and Physics subject
  • The entrance exam will be conducted over a period of three hours
  • There will be total of 90 questions, each section will have 30 questions
